زينة الإيمان في القلوب The adornment of faith in the hearts
هذا المقال يتحدث عن مادة الزينة في القرآن، ولكن اخترنا فقط الآيات التي تتحدث عن الزينة التي تتعلق بها القلوب كما لو أنها عقيدة، والسؤال هنا: لماذا نري بعض الناس يتميزن بعلاقة قوية مع الإله، أو بعقيدة سليمة في دينها، أو نسمها عقيدة قوية لا تتزعزع حتي في أحلك الظروف، فنجد ناس في المجاعات وفي الحروب لا يتحدثون إلا بالحمد للإله، فما السر في ذلك؟ الله تعالي له آية في القرآن الكريم - سنتحدث عنها بعد قليل أنه سبحانه وتعالي هو هو من يُزين الإيمان في القلب، فكيف ذلك؟ وما علاقة علم النفس بهذا الأمر؟ دعنا نستعرض ذلك سويا من خلال هذا المقال..
1- المال والبنون كمادة للزينة في القرآن
قال تعالي
الْمَالُ وَالْبَنُونَ زِينَةُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ أَمَلًا} (الكهف: 46)
المال والبنون زينة هذه الحياة المحتقرة فلا تتبعوها نفوسكم . وهو رد على عيينة بن حصن وأمثاله لما افتخروا بالغنى والشرف ، فأخبر
الله تعالى - أن ما كان من زينة الحياة الدنيا فهو غرور يمر ولا يبقى ، كالهشيم حين ذرته الريح ; إنما يبقى ما كان من زاد القبر وعدد الآخرة . وكان يقال : لا تعقد قلبك مع المال لأنه فيء ذاهب ، ولا مع النساء لأنها اليوم معك وغدا مع غيرك ، ولا مع السلطان لأنه اليوم لك وغدا لغيرك.

الله تبارك وتعالي يعلم أن المال والبنون لهما بريق كبريق الذهب عند معظم الناس، ولم يقل الله عزوجل البنات، بل قال البنون، أي الذكور، والبنون هم: تصغير ابْن: شاب صغير السنّ، ويستعمل عادة في النداء، لنبدأ بالمال كما بدء الله تبارك وتعالي
المال
يقول صلي الله عليه وسلم
لوْ أنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ مِثْلَ وادٍ مالًا لَأَحَبَّ أنَّ له إلَيْهِ مِثْلَهُ، ولا يَمْلَأُ عَيْنَ ابْنِ آدَمَ إلَّا التُّرابُ، ويَتُوبُ اللَّهُ علَى مَن تابَ. قالَ ابنُ عبَّاسٍ: فلا أدْرِي مِنَ القُرْآنِ هو أمْ لا؟ قالَ: وسَمِعْتُ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يقولُ ذلكَ علَى المِنْبَرِ. رواه البخاري) فالحب للمال متأصل في النفس البشرية هذا شيء معروف وحديث رسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم يبين لنا ذلك بكل وضوح، والله تعالي قدم المال علي البنون لأن البنون من كمال سعادتهم بك كأب وكمال سعادتك بهم أن تنفق عليهم بأريحية شديدة ولا تحتاج للإقتراض مثلاً من أجل الإنفاق عليهم، أو تشعر أنك في ضيق أنك لا تستطيع فعل ذلك.
البنون
إن حب الذكور متأصل في النفس البشرية عند الإنجاب، ولازالت بعض الأسر الريفية في بعض الأماكن في العالم يميزون الذكور علي الإناث وكان العرب يأدون البنات، وهناك سياسة الطفل الواحد في الصين، إن أخطأ الآباء وأنجبوا طفل ثاني فهو من شقاءهم الشديد لأن البنت تؤخذ منهم وتُربي في مأوي خاص للبنات سيء السمعة جداً في العالم أجمع للتعامل السييء للغاية مع البنات الرضع ، وهناك الأطفال المصممين كما يريد الآباء - نعتقد أنهم يفضلون إنجاب الذكور علي الإناث - وغيرها مما الله تعالي يعلم ولا نعلم لحدود علمنا .
زِينَةُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا
يشهد الله تعالي للناس أن المال والبنون هم من الزينة التي يتزين الناس بها أمام أعين الناس، فلا نتخيل أن يتزين أحدهم لنفسه أو في بيته، أو يزين أولاده ليشاهدهم بل يحب أن الناس تشاهدهم ويمدحون جمالهم وتعليمهم وأدبهم وغير ذلك، فهي من الزينة المحببة للنفس البشرية، وهي من الزينة التي لم يغفل الله تعالي أن الناس تحبها وتعتبرها من أفضل الزينة التي يتزينون بها خاصة لو الأطفال ذكور وأصحاء وبعقل جيد ووو.
وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ أَمَلًا
هذا تصحيح مفاهيم للمؤمنين حصرياً، كل الناس تتجه الإتجاه الأسهل ، ولكن المؤمنين: يعلمون
2- الأعمال المزيفة كنوع من أنواع الزينة في الدنيا
قال تعالي
فَلَوْلَا إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا تَضَرَّعُوا وَلَٰكِنْ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِ وَالطَّيِّبَاتِ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ ۚ قُلْ هِيَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ. سورة الأعراف
يَعْنِي: لِبْسَ الثِّيَابِ فِي الطَّوَافِ، ﴿ وَالطَّيِّباتِ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ ﴾، يَعْنِي: اللَّحْمَ وَالدَّسَمَ فِي أَيَّامِ الْحَجِّ.

4- الإيمان بالله كنوع من أنواع الزينة التي يوهبها الله تعالي لمن يشاء
قال تعالي
(وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ فِيكُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ۚ لَوْ يُطِيعُكُمْ فِي كَثِيرٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ حَبَّبَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْإِيمَانَ وَزَيَّنَهُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْكُفْرَ وَالْفُسُوقَ وَالْعِصْيَانَ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الرَّاشِدُونَ) سورة الحجرات
لو كان رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - يعمل في الأمور بآرائكم ويقبل منكم ما تقولون له فيطيعكم ( لعنتم ) يقول : لنالكم عنت ، يعني الشدة والمشقة في كثير من الأمور بطاعته إياكم لو أطاعكم لأنه كان يخطئ في أفعاله كما لو قبل من الوليد بن عقبة قوله في بني المصطلق : إنهم قد ارتدوا ، ومنعوا الصدقة ، وجمعوا الجموع لغزو المسلمين ، فغزاهم فقتل منهم ، وأصاب من دمائهم وأموالهم ، كان قد قتل وقتلتم من لا يحل له ولا لكم قتله ، وأخذ وأخذتم من المال ما لا يحل له ولكم أخذه من أموال قوم مسلمين ، فنالكم من الله بذلك عنت ( ولكن الله حبب إليكم الإيمان ) بالله ورسوله ، فأنتم تطيعون رسول الله ، وتأتمون به فيقيكم الله بذلك من العنت ما لو لم تطيعوه وتتبعوه ، وكان يطيعكم لنالكم وأصابكم .

هل القلب من الداخل مظلم لا شيء فيه إلي أن تتزين الأشياء فيها فيحبها أو حتي يكرهها، يبدوا وهل لذلك حقيقة علمية يستند عليها، بعد قليل ستجد بين يديك حقيقة علمية عن كيمياء القلب والعقل التي تتغير علي حسب ما تؤمن به ، لذا نحن نثق في الله تعالي عندما يقول: وزينه في قلوبكم: أنه بالفعل يزين الإيمان في القلب أو يجعله يزوغ عن الإيمان عياذا بالله علي حسب ما يمتلك من معتقد وكم رسوخه في هذا القلب، حيث يقول تعالي (فلما زاغوا أزاغ الله قلوبهم) !!

علم نفس المعتقدات، ولماذا هي مزينة في القلب؟

المعتقدات هي في الأساس المبادئ التوجيهية للحياة، التي تُعطيها اتجاهًا ومعنى. المعتقدات هي المرشحات المُعدّة مسبقًا والمُنظّمة لإدراكاتنا للعالم (الخارجية والداخلية). المعتقدات أشبه بـ"أوامر داخلية" للدماغ تُرشده إلى كيفية تمثيل ما يحدث، عندما نؤمن إيمانًا مُطابقًا بصحة شيء ما. في غياب المعتقدات أو عدم القدرة على استغلالها، يشعر الناس بالعجز.
تنبع المعتقدات مما نسمعه - ونستمر في سماعه من الآخرين، منذ صغرنا (وحتى قبل ذلك!). تشمل مصادر المعتقدات البيئة، والأحداث، والمعرفة، والتجارب السابقة، والتصورات، إلخ. من أكبر المفاهيم الخاطئة التي غالبًا ما يعتنقها الناس أن المعتقد مفهوم فكري جامد. لا شيء أبعد عن الحقيقة! المعتقدات خيار. لدينا القدرة على اختيار معتقداتنا. تصبح معتقداتنا واقعنا.
المعتقدات ليست مجرد مقدمات ذهنية باردة، بل هي "مادة ساخنة" متشابكة مع العواطف (الواعية أو اللاواعية). ربما، هذا هو السبب في أننا نشعر بالتهديد أو نتفاعل أحيانًا بعدوانية غير مبررة، عندما نعتقد أن معتقداتنا تتعرض للتحدي
أشارت نتائج الأبحاث مرارًا وتكرارًا إلى
أن الدماغ العاطفي لم يعد محصورًا في المواقع الكلاسيكية للحُصين واللوزة الدماغية وتحت المهاد. تخضع المدخلات الحسية التي نتلقاها من البيئة لعملية تصفية أثناء انتقالها عبر مشبك واحد أو أكثر، لتصل في النهاية إلى منطقة المعالجة العليا، مثل الفص الجبهي. هناك، تدخل المعلومات الحسية إلى إدراكنا الواعي. يتم تحديد جزء هذه المعلومات الحسية التي تدخل من خلال معتقداتنا. لحسن الحظ بالنسبة لنا، فإن المستقبلات الموجودة على أغشية الخلايا مرنة، والتي يمكن أن تتغير في الحساسية والتكوين. بعبارة أخرى، حتى عندما نشعر بالتعثر "عاطفيًا"، هناك دائمًا إمكانية كيميائية حيوية للتغيير والنمو المحتمل. عندما نختار تغيير أفكارنا (دفعات من المواد الكيميائية العصبية!)، نصبح منفتحين ومتقبلين لمعلومات حسية أخرى كانت معتقداتنا تحجبها حتى الآن! عندما نغير تفكيرنا، نغير معتقداتنا. عندما نغير معتقداتنا، نغير سلوكنا. وكما تُعتبر الأدوية الوهمية المُؤكدة للحياة مُذهلة، فقد لوحظ أن "التأثير السلبي على النفس" (Nocebo) يلعب دورًا أيضًا. فهو يرتبط بمعتقدات سلبية، أو مُهددة للحياة، أو مُحبطة. يُشير آرثر بارسكي، وهو طبيب نفسي، إلى أن توقعات المريض - اعتقاداته حول فعالية الدواء أو الإجراء الطبي أو آثاره الجانبية - هي التي تلعب دورًا حاسمًا في النتيجة.
تنبع الكيمياء الحيوية لجسمنا من وعينا
يصبح الوعي المعزز بالاعتقاد كيمياءنا الحيوية. كل خلية صغيرة في جسمنا تدرك تمامًا وبشكل مطلق أفكارنا ومشاعرنا وبالطبع معتقداتنا. هناك مقولة جميلة "لا أحد يكبر. عندما يتوقف الناس عن النمو، يصبحون كبارًا في السن". إذا كنت تعتقد أنك هش، فإن الكيمياء الحيوية لجسمك تطيعك وتتجلى في ذلك بلا شك. إذا كنت تعتقد أنك قوي (بغض النظر عن وزنك وكثافة عظامك!)، فإن جسمك يعكس ذلك بلا شك. عندما تعتقد أنك مكتئب (بتعبير أدق، عندما تصبح واعيًا بـ "إصابتك بالاكتئاب")، فإنك تختم البيانات الخام التي تتلقاها من خلال حواسنا، بحكم - وهذا هو وجهة نظرك الشخصية - وتصبح جسديًا "التفسير" كما تستوعبه. ومن الأمثلة الكلاسيكية على ذلك "التقزم النفسي الاجتماعي"، حيث يشعر الأطفال ويعتقدون أنهم غير محبوبين، فيترجمون هذا الافتقار الملحوظ للحب إلى مستويات منخفضة من هرمون النمو، على النقيض من الرأي السائد بأن هرمون النمو يتم إطلاقه وفقًا لجدول زمني مبرمج مسبقًا مشفر في جينات الفرد!
إن وظيفة الدماغ الكاملة في استقرار المعتقد وفي الاستجابة للنظام البيئي
بعض مناطق الدماغ والدوائر العصبية مهمة جدًا في ترسيخ المعتقدات وتنفيذ المشاعر. تلعب الفصوص الأمامية دورًا رئيسيًا في المعتقدات. يتم دمج التمثيلات العقلية للعالم مع المعلومات تحت القشرية بواسطة قشرة الفص الجبهي. تشارك اللوزة الدماغية والحُصين في عملية التفكير وبالتالي تساعد في تنفيذ المعتقدات.
كشفت نتائج أبحاث يونغ وساكس (2008)
أن قشرة الفص الجبهي الإنسي تشارك في معالجة قيمة المعتقد. يشارك الوصلة الصدغية الجدارية اليمنى والجزء الأمامي من الدماغ في معالجة المعتقدات للحكم الأخلاقي. تتم معالجة المعتقدات الحقيقية من خلال الوصلة الصدغية الجدارية اليمنى. أوضح ساكس أن الحكم على المعتقدات يبدأ في سن الخامسة مستشهدًا بمثال للحكم على أسئلة المعتقدات في القصص القصيرة من قبل الأطفال، تضمن إسناد المعتقد تنشيط مناطق القشرة الجبهية الأمامية الإنسية والتلافيف الصدغية العلوية ومناطق الحُصين. أظهرت الدراسات التي أجراها كروميناشر وآخرون أن مستويات الدوبامين مرتبطة بالأفكار الخارقة للطبيعة مما يشير إلى دور الدوبامين في تطور المعتقدات في الدماغ.
الأفكار والمعتقدات جزء لا يتجزأ من عمليات الدماغ
يُمكن وصف النواقل العصبية بأنها "الكلمات" التي يستخدمها الدماغ للتواصل مع تبادل المعلومات المستمر، بوساطة هذه الرسل الجزيئية. إن كشف لغز هذه الموسيقى الجزيئية المُحفّزة بسحر المعتقدات، والتي تُؤثّر بشكل كبير على الكيمياء الحيوية للدماغ، قد يكون مغامرةً مثيرةً وتحدٍّ دماغيٍّ جديرًا بالمتابعة.
This article discusses the concept of adornment in the Quran, but we have chosen only the verses that speak of adornment that the heart clings to as if it were a matter of faith. The question here is: Why do we see some people distinguished by a strong relationship with God, or by a sound belief in their religion, or what we might call a strong, unwavering faith even in the darkest of circumstances? We find people in famines and wars who speak only of praising God. What is the secret behind this? God Almighty has a verse in the Holy Quran—which we will discuss shortly—that He, Glory be to Him, is the One who adorns faith in the heart. How is this so? And what does psychology have to do with this matter? Let us explore this together in this article.
1- The Wealth and Children as Adornments in the Quran
Allah Almighty says
الْمَالُ وَالْبَنُونَ زِينَةُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ أَمَلًا} (الكهف: 46)
{Wealth and children are the adornment of this worldly life, but the enduring good deeds are better to your Lord for reward and better for [one's] hope.} (Al-Kahf: 46)
Wealth and children are the adornments of this contemptible life, so do not let your souls be attached to them. This is a response to 'Uyaynah ibn Hisn and those like him who boasted of their wealth and status. Allah Almighty informs us that whatever is considered an adornment of this worldly life is a fleeting illusion that passes away and does not last, like chaff scattered by the wind. Only what is prepared for the grave and the Hereafter remains. It used to be said: Do not attach your heart to wealth, for it is a fleeting pleasure; nor to women, for they are with you today and with another tomorrow; nor to power, for it is yours today and with another tomorrow.
A Look at the Noble Verse
The diminutive of "ibn" (son): a young man, commonly used in address
God, Blessed and Exalted is He, knows that wealth and sons hold a luster like gold for most people. He did not say "daughters," but rather "sons," meaning males. The diminutive of "ibn" is "young man," commonly used in address. Let us begin with wealth, as God, Blessed and Exalted is He, began.
The Wealth
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said
“If the son of Adam had wealth the size of a valley, he would wish to have another like it. Nothing fills the eye of the son of Adam except dust (i.e., death). And Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents.” Ibn Abbas said: “I do not know whether this is from the Quran or not.” He also said: “I heard Ibn al-Zubayr say this on the pulpit.” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari) The love of money is deeply ingrained in human nature; this is a well-known fact, and the hadith of the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, clearly illustrates this. God Almighty mentioned wealth before children because the ultimate happiness of children lies in your ability to provide for them with ease and without needing to borrow or feel in financial difficulty.
The Children
The love of male children is deeply rooted in human nature. Some rural families in certain parts of the world still favor males over females. The Arabs used to bury their daughters alive. There is also the one-child policy in China. If parents mistakenly have a second child, it is a great misfortune for them, as the daughter is taken from them and raised in a special orphanage for girls, which is infamous worldwide for its extremely poor treatment of infant girls. There are also children conceived according to the parents' wishes—we believe they prefer having sons over daughters—and other things that only God Almighty knows, and we do not, to the extent of our knowledge.
The Adornment of This Worldly Life
God Almighty testifies to humanity that wealth and children are among the adornments people display before others. We cannot imagine someone adorning themselves for personal gain or within their home, or decorating their children for their own amusement. Rather, they desire that others see them, praise their beauty, education, manners, and so on. These are adornments beloved by the human soul, and God Almighty has not overlooked the fact that people love them and consider them among the best adornments, especially if the children are male, healthy, and of sound mind, and so forth.
And the enduring good deeds are better in your Lord’s sight in reward and better in hope
This is a correction of misconceptions exclusively for believers. Everyone tends to take the easier path, but believers know
2- The False Deeds as a Form of Worldly Adornment
Allah Almighty says:
فَلَوْلَا إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا تَضَرَّعُوا وَلَٰكِنْ قَسَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
“Then why, when Our punishment came upon them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing.”
So why, when We afflicted them with this, did they not humble themselves before Us and show us submission? (But their hearts became hardened) meaning: they did not soften or become humble. (And Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing) meaning: of polytheism and sins.
A Glimpse into the Noble Verse
“Then why, when Our punishment came upon them, did they not humble themselves?”
This means that the possibility of hardship in life is very real. Most of us desire well-being in religion, this world, and the Hereafter, but The seasons of life change from summer to autumn, winter, and spring, and so do the seasons of our personal lives. If you are in winter, then wait for spring again. The most important point is that some people, at certain times in their lives, face hardship (strength, severity, or trial) and do not supplicate. So what does supplication mean? Is it crying? No, rather it is beseeching God and humbling oneself before Him. Your crying and tears are not important, even if they indicate a soft heart. However, if you supplicate by raising your hands, or by whispering in prostration and showing humility and brokenness before God, this is the beginning of the right path. Humility is one of the closest things to God, may He be blessed and exalted. Imagine if someone has a vested interest in you and acts arrogantly towards you, and another is dignified but reveals the hardship he is going through. Whose side is your heart on? But their hearts hardened
The signs of a hardened heart include:
Lack of reaction to the Holy Quran
Dry eyes and few tears
Disregard for death
Arrogance and rejection of the truth
Indifference to the suffering of others
Hatred and animosity
Loneliness and fear
Distortion of God's word
Satan's embellishment of sins
And Satan made their deeds seem fair to them
What do you imagine? A hardened heart followed by an action? Would it be a good deed or a bad one? Most likely a bad one. So how is it made appealing in the heart? By Satan's influence. For God Almighty only makes good deeds appealing in the heart. And why is the heart the seat of appreciating beauty? It could be the eye or the mind, but why the heart specifically? We do not know exactly why good or bad deeds are made beautiful in the heart, but we all know that the heart is the seat of feelings, and the heart also contains mental neurons, so trust your feelings: if they tell you that you love something or hate something else, then it is feelings added to a mind that thinks, even if it is a small mind, but it is a mind and neurons that carry the thought within it, which translates into behavior by loving the deed, no matter how bad or good it is, and you surely agree with us: that deeds in themselves are not made beautiful, but we are the ones who make them beautiful in our own eyes or hate them if we are believers and they do not please God Almighty, so we are the ones who make the bride beautiful and we make the house, the factory, and the shop beautiful, even though there was no beauty in it in the first place.
3- Good things as a type of adornment in this world
God Almighty said:
قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِ وَالطَّيِّبَاتِ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ ۚ قُلْ هِيَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ. سورة الأعراف
Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment of God which He has produced for His servants and the good things of provision?" Say, "They are for those who believe during this worldly life [and] exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection." Thus do We detail the verses for a people who know. Surah Al-A'raf
Meaning: Wearing clothes during Tawaf (circumambulation of the Kaaba), and the good things of provision, meaning: meat and fat during the days of Hajj.
Say, “These are for those who believe during this worldly life, and exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection.”
The good things in this world are for both believers and disbelievers, but in the Hereafter, they are for believers only, and disbelievers will no longer enjoy them.
Thus do We explain the verses for a people who know
This is God Almighty’s explanation of the matter. Whoever acts otherwise will face punishment, if not worldly—and this is rare—for whoever initiates violence against Muslims in any way and denies them their rights will inevitably face retribution, whether in their person, wealth, children, or other aspects. Unless they are a complete disbeliever, in which case their punishment is postponed until the Hereafter, though it may also be hastened in this world. There are punishments that God hastens to exact from the oppressor for the sake of the oppressed.
4- The Faith in God is a kind of adornment that God Almighty bestows upon whomever He wills
God Almighty says:
(وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ فِيكُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ۚ لَوْ يُطِيعُكُمْ فِي كَثِيرٍ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ لَعَنِتُّمْ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ حَبَّبَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْإِيمَانَ وَزَيَّنَهُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ وَكَرَّهَ إِلَيْكُمُ الْكُفْرَ وَالْفُسُوقَ وَالْعِصْيَانَ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الرَّاشِدُونَ) سورة الحجرات
(And know that among you is the Messenger of God. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in hardship. But God has endeared faith to you and has made it pleasing in your hearts and has made disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience hateful to you. Those are the [rightly] guided.) [Surah Al-Hujurat]
If the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) were to act in matters according to your opinions and accept what you say to him and obey you, you would be in hardship. He says: You would have suffered hardship, meaning difficulty and difficulty in many matters, had he obeyed you, because he would have erred in his actions. For example, if he had accepted al-Walid ibn Uqba's statement regarding the Banu al-Mustaliq: that they had apostatized, refused to pay zakat, and gathered forces to attack the Muslims, and he attacked them, killing some of them and seizing their blood and wealth, he would have killed, and you would have killed, those whom neither he nor you were permitted to kill. He would have taken, and you would have taken, wealth that neither he nor you were permitted to take from the wealth of a Muslim people. Thus, you would have suffered hardship from God. (But God has endeared faith to you) in God and His Messenger. So you obey the Messenger of God and follow him, and God protects you from the hardship that would have befallen you had you not obeyed and followed him. If he had obeyed you, you would have suffered hardship and difficulty.
A Reflection on the Noble Verse
And know that among you is the Messenger of Allah. If he were to obey you in much of the matter, you would be in hardship.
The hardship: difficulty and difficulty
Know that as long as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is among you, if he were to obey you in many of the matters you wish to alleviate, you would suffer hardship and difficulty.
But Allah has endeared faith to you
Who endeared faith to hearts? God Almighty Himself says in another verse: “And those who were guided, We increased them in guidance.” This means the beginning is from You, and no guidance or increase can come except from God Almighty. It does not come through the intercession of a prophet, a righteous saint, or a close angel. God Almighty also says: “Indeed, you do not guide whom you love, but God guides whom He wills.”
“And He has made it beautiful in your hearts.” Is the heart inherently dark and empty until things are made beautiful within it, causing it to love or even hate them? It seems so. Is there a scientific basis for this? Soon you will find a scientific fact about the chemistry of the heart and mind, which changes according to what one believes. Therefore, we trust in God Almighty when He says: “And He has made it beautiful in your hearts.” He truly makes faith beautiful in the heart or causes it to stray from faith—God forbid—according to the heart’s beliefs and how firmly rooted they are in that heart. As God Almighty says: “So when they deviated, God caused their hearts to deviate.”
And He has made disbelief, wickedness, and disobedience hateful to you.
Note: Disbelief comes first, then wickedness begins, and finally, disobedience to God Almighty. All of this is because the heart did not receive faith in a suitable way, and thus God Almighty did not guide it.
Those are the rightly guided. Righteousness (al-rashidun) refers to the wise management of money. The age of maturity is around 40 years for both men and women. It also includes wise spending: being economical in one's expenditure. Imagine that God Almighty describes those whose hearts are adorned with faith in the One God, who does not associate anything with Him, as being among the rightly guided.
The Psychology of Beliefs: Why They Are So Deeply Rooted in the Heart

Beliefs are essentially the guiding principles of life, giving it direction and meaning. They are the pre-set and organized filters of our perceptions of the world (both external and internal). Beliefs are like "internal commands" for the brain, instructing it on how to represent what happens when we believe something to be true. Without beliefs, or without the ability to utilize them, people feel powerless.
Beliefs stem from what we hear—and continue to hear from others—from a young age (and even before!). Sources of beliefs include the environment, events, knowledge, past experiences, perceptions, and so on. One of the biggest misconceptions people often hold is that belief is a rigid intellectual concept. Nothing could be further from the truth! Beliefs are a choice. We have the power to choose our beliefs. Our beliefs become our reality.
Beliefs are not merely cold, abstract mental constructs; they are a complex mix intertwined with emotions (both conscious and unconscious). Perhaps this is why we feel threatened or sometimes react with unwarranted aggression when we perceive our beliefs to be challenged.
The research has repeatedly indicated that
The emotional brain is no longer confined to the classic sites of the hippocampus, amygdala, and hypothalamus. Sensory input from the environment undergoes a filtering process as it travels through one or more synapses, eventually reaching a higher processing area, such as the prefrontal cortex. There, sensory information enters our conscious awareness. The portion of this sensory information that enters is determined by our beliefs. Fortunately for us, the receptors on cell membranes are flexible, meaning they can change in sensitivity and composition. In other words, even when we feel emotionally unstable, there is always a biochemical potential for change and growth. When we choose to alter our thoughts (a surge of neurochemicals!), we become more open and receptive to other sensory information that our beliefs have previously blocked. When we change our thinking, we change our beliefs. When we change our beliefs, we change our behavior. And just as the life-affirming placebo effect is amazing, it has been observed that the "negative psychological effect" (nocebo) also plays a role. It is associated with negative, life-threatening, or discouraging beliefs. Arthur Barsky, a psychiatrist, points out that a patient's expectations—their beliefs about the effectiveness of a drug or medical procedure or its side effects—play a crucial role in the outcome.
Our biochemistry stems from our consciousness
Consciousness, enhanced by belief, becomes our biochemistry. Every single cell in our body is fully and absolutely aware of our thoughts, feelings, and, of course, our beliefs. There's a beautiful saying: "No one grows old. When people stop growing, they get old." If you believe you are fragile, your biochemistry will undoubtedly obey and reflect that. If you believe you are strong (regardless of your weight and bone density!), your body will undoubtedly reflect that. When you believe you are depressed (more precisely, when you become aware of "being depressed"), you seal the raw data you receive through your senses with judgment—and this is your personal perspective—and physically become the "interpretation" as you internalize it. A classic example of this is "psychosocial dwarfism," where children feel and believe they are unloved, interpreting this perceived lack of love as low levels of growth hormone, contrary to the common belief that growth hormone is released according to a pre-programmed schedule encoded in an individual's genes!
The whole brain is involved in belief stabilization and in responding to the environment
Certain brain regions and neural circuits are crucial in establishing beliefs and implementing emotions. The frontal lobes play a key role in beliefs. Mental representations of the world are integrated with subcortical information by the prefrontal cortex. The amygdala and hippocampus are involved in the thinking process and thus help implement beliefs.
The findings of Young and Sachs (2008) revealed that
the medial prefrontal cortex is involved in processing the value of a belief. The right temporoparietal junction and the frontal lobe are involved in processing beliefs for moral judgment. True beliefs are processed through the right temporoparietal junction. Sachs explained that the judgment of beliefs begins around age five, citing the example of children judging belief questions in short stories. Attributing a belief involved activating areas of the medial prefrontal cortex, superior temporal gyri, and hippocampus. Studies by Krommenacher et al. showed that dopamine levels are associated with supernatural ideas, suggesting a role for dopamine in the development of beliefs in the brain.
The thoughts and beliefs are an integral part of brain function
tHE Neurotransmitters can be described as the "words" the brain uses to communicate, constantly exchanging information through these molecular messengers. Unraveling the mystery of this molecular music, fueled by the magic of beliefs and profoundly influencing brain biochemistry, could be an exciting adventure and a brain-teasing challenge worth pursuing.
