How I know that my prayer is accepted كيف أعلم أن صلاتي مقبولة؟

قبل أن نتطرق لهذا الموضوع: هذا الموضوع خاص بالمُقصرين في الصلاة أو الذين لا يصلون من الأساس، دعنا نتفكر سويا: هل صلاتنا مقبولة، كلنا يحفظ أول ما يحاسب عليه العبد يوم القيامة (الصلاة) فإتن صلحت صلح سائر الأعمال ..إلي آخر الحديث الشريف بمتنه الصحيح، هل أنت راضي عن صلاتك؟ اسمعك تقول: وما دخلي انا بالرضا أو عدم الرضا عن صلاتي، هل تعلم متي تكون راضي عن الله بمعيار الإسلام؟ ربما تعرف مثلي: أنه إذا رضيت عن الله تعالي في اقداره المُسخطة - عفي عنك وعنا الله بفضله - فهو راضِ عنك، رضي الله كامن في مشاعرك تجاهه سبحانه وتعالي ، فإذا رضيت فلك الرضا، الآن ارجع للسؤال مرة اخري: هل أنت راضِ عن صلاتك؟ اسمعك تقول: لا اعلم تحديداً، ولا أفكر في الأمر من الأساس ، وأنا عند حُسن ظن عبدي بي فلماذا لا يقبلها ؟ نعم الله تعالي يحب حسن الظن لكن لا يحب ان تتمني عليه الأماني وانت بعيد كل البعد عنه، دعنا نتعرف علي ما هي معايير قبول الصلاة ، ولكن قبل أن نبدأ: هل انت صاحب بيزنس؟ إذا قلت لموظفينك في يوم ما: أريد هذا المشروع ان يُتم علي أحسن وجه، وبعد قليل جاء لك احد الموظفين بمشروع هزيل، ثم جاء آخر ثم جاء آخر علي غير توقعاتك، ثم تأخر احدهم عنك ساعتين: ثم جاء بمشروع ممتاز؟ مع من أنت راضي مع من تأخر عليك ولكن أحسن المشروع أم مع من جاء علي عجلة والمشروع هزيل بين يديه؟ الطبيعي انك رضيت عن من تأخر ساعتين كاملتين ولكن جاء بمشروع ممتاز، الله أفرح بتوبة عبده أكثر ممن فقد ناقته التي عليها كل زاده في الصحراء ثم رجعت إليه، لو تأخرت الساعتين "حتي لو كان عمراً كاملاً" فالآن، الآن.. لنبدأ 

2889 عن ابن عباس قال : قال رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - : " قال الله - تبارك وتعالى - : إنما أتقبل الصلاة ممن تواضع بها لعظمتي ولم يستطل على خلقي ولم يبت مصرا على معصيتي، وقطع نهاره في ذكري، ورحم المسكين وابن السبيل والأرملة ورحم المصاب، ذلك نوره كنور الشمس أكلؤه بعزتي وأستحفظه ملائكتي أجعل له في الظلمة نورا وفي الجهالة حلما ومثله في خلقي كمثل الفردوس في الجنة" 

احتمالية ضعف الحديث ولكننا سنستأنس به طالما وثقه الإمام أحمد وبقية الرجال ثقات ما عدا واحد 

رواه البزار وفيه عبد الله بن واقد الحراني ضعفه النسائي والبخاري وإبراهيم الجوزجاني وابن معين في رواية ، ووثقه أحمد وقال : كان يتحرى الصدق وأنكر على من تكلم به وأثنى عليه خيرا وبقية رجاله ثقات

إطلالة حول الحديث 

 هنا عدة معايير، سنأخذ معيار معيار نتحدث عنه

قبل الشروع في تفاصيل الحديث القدسي الشريف: قلنا في المقدمة هل نحن أصحاب صلاة مقبولة وقلنا: لا نعلم تحديدا ، وتحدثنا عن المشاريع المقبولة من صاحب العمل، إذا كنت أنت لا ترضي لعملك إلا الممتاز - المحكم  الذي ليس به غلطة، فلما تطلب من الله تعالي أن يتقبل صلاة كلها عقلك فارغ فيها من كل ما هو إسلام ولا تفكر إلا في دنياك - إن كنت ممن يصلون من الأساس،دعنا الآن نحلل الحديث الشريف قدر ما نستطيع

1- إنما أتقبل الصلاة ممن تواضع بها لعظمتي 

هل أنت متواضع؟ نعم أنا متواضع جداً؟ وما علامة ذلك؟ هل تعلم إتيكيت الإنحناء في اليابان؟ نعم إنهم طوال النهار والليل ينحنون للصغير والكبير والسيارة المارة التي سمحت لهم بالمرور من أمامها، أنا لا أزدري الثقافات ولكنه شيء ممل حقاً، ربما معك حق،ولكن ارجع لنص هذا الجزء من الحديث الشريف: ( ممن تواضع بها لعظمتي .. وليس خلقي) وما معني هذا؟ هل دخلت علي ملك من الملوك قبل ذلك؟ ربما نعم وربما لا، فإن كنت دخلت علي ملك هل تيقظت لكلمات وحركاتك وضبطت كل ايقاعاتك أمامه أم لا؟ أقصد: هل قلت له عفواً رباط حذائي يريد أن يُربط ، وعدلت ملابسك أمامه؟ أم فعلت ذلك قبل دخوله؟ هذا ملك من ملوك الدنيا وله كامل الإحترام، فما بالك بملك الملوك، من اسماء الله الحُسني أنه "الملك" وليس ملك كذا أو كذا، سمعت امرأة لم تكن تصلي طيلة عمرها - طيلة عمرها وماتت في الستينات من عمرها اوائلها، أو ربما اقل: كانت تتنقل بين المستشفيات قبل موتها رحمها الله وفي مرة كان القرآن المُشغل في راديو السيارة التي تركبها يقول "لمن المُلك اليوم، لله الواحد القهار" فقالت لرفيقتها: انا خائفة من لقاء الله جداً، العظمة لله يا أخي، هلا تواضعت وانت تصلي لله، هذا أول معيار، هلا وانت تركع انحنيت من الداخل للخارج، هلا انحنيت بقلبك، لا تنحني اتيكيت كاليابان ربما يفرغ من مضمونه وإن كانوا أفضل الشعوب المتقدمة المتواضعة علي كوكب الأرض، بل اركع لعظمة الله، أما لو لم تكن تفهم عظمة الله في الكون المقروء "القرآن الكريم" أو الكون المنظور " الكون وفزياءها وهندسته النووية" ولم تري في نفسك آية تدل علي انه الواحد، فلا داعي لركوعك ولا داعي ان تفهم ما هي عظمة الله تبارك وتعالي. 

2- ولم يستطل على خلقي

الإستطالة: تأتي من التمديد لأعلي أليس كذلك؟ وأنت خبير بالتأكيد أن اي زيادة في المبني زيادة في المعني، فهي ليس إطالة بل استطالة ، والإطالة بغير السين تعني: الزيادة في الشيء عن الحد المعتاد ومنه إطالة الثوب ، إذن هي ليست زيادة عن الحد عادية، بل أنت فوق فوق ، لا أحد يستطيع الوصول إلي جنابك الكريم، يا أخي تواضع ، فكلنا من تراب وإلي تراب ذاهبين حافين من غير أحذية براندات عالمية ، تواضع لخلق الله حتي لو حيوان، هناك ناس تتعامل مع الحيوانات الأليفة ، مرة اخري: الأليفة بكل غلظة وركل وعدم إعطاء ما تبقي من الأكل. 

3- ولم يبت مُصرا على معصيتي

الإصرار يجعل الصغيرة كبيرة، وهي نوع من الإستطالة أيضاً ولكن في حق من هذه المرة؟ في حق الله تبارك وتعالي، فمعظم النار من مستصغر الشرر، ومعظم الجبال من صغار الحصي، ولكن لابد من التفريق بين الجحود والشهوات ، فالجحود والكفر بأن الله يراني: هو لم يعطيني ما أريد منذ ايام كذا وكذا، فلن أعبده جملة وتفصيلا، هذا كفر يا اخي هذه ذنوب كبائر من الأساس ولو كانت صغائر، وهناك من غلبته شهوته لشباب او غيره: فهو تحت رحمة الله إن شاء عذبه وإن شاء رحمه وتاب عليه ليتوب. الأهم: أن كل يوم فلتر اليوم قبل ما تبدأ يوم بعده، فلا تبات علي معصية الله وتنتظر الأمل والرحمة والجود في اليوم التالي، كلنا يحفظ: إذا وضعت نفس المقدمات = نفس النتائج، غير المعادلة ، غير مقدماتك مع الله، بإذن الله ستتغير النتائج لصالحك. 

4- وقطع نهاره في ذكري

ألا تعلمين أن وراءي عمل ، أنا صاحب شركة ولدي موظفين يعملون عندي ولهم رواتب أريد أن احضرها لهم علي نهاية الشهر ، أنا،أنا، أنا .. قل ما شئت بعد أنا، لكن تذكر: أنك لو احببت أن تقوم بعمل رياضة لبدنك لتقويه ستجد الوقت، ووجدت الوقت لتسأل: اي من كان من يحضر طعامك: ماذا سنأكل اليوم، ووجدت الوقت لتتمدد علي الأريكة بعد يوم عمل شاق ربما لساعات طوال تقلب بين قنوات التلفاز واليوتيوب والسوشيال ميديا، هل وجدت وقت لكل هذه الأشياء ولم تجد وقتاً لقطع النهار في ذكر الله تعالي؟ بدل وجدت الوقت لكل هذه الأشياء فأنت مسؤول أمام الله، والعقل مناط التكليف، فأنت فكرت وقررت ونفذت الرياضة لجسد ليكون معافي علي سبيل المثال، فعليك قطع النهار في ذكر الله، اعلم أن هناك ناس لا تستطيع ترك عملها وتمسك المسبحة لتسبح عليها مثلاً، إذن عليك كل ساعة ولتقوم بعمل Alarm تذكر الله بنوع من أنواع الأدعية الجامعة للمغفرة مثل (استغفر الله العظيم الذي لا إله إلا هو وأتوب إليه: 3 مرات) كل ساعة لا يمثل شيء ولكنه عند الله كبير خاصة إذا كنت ممن أصحاب الياقات البيضاء العالية في منصب هنا أو هناك، أو تذكر دعاء دخول الخلاء او الخروج منه، لا تتكبر، فحتي دخول الخلاء نعمة لا يعلمها إلا من يغسل الكُلي - عافاك الله -  وادخل بيتك قبل أن تقول Hi استبدلها بسلام، إلي ان تصل إلي سلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته، وامليء بيتك بالبركة، كلما كبرت ستعلم أن البركة ليست في أغراض كثيرة في الثلاجة، أو دولاب الخزين في المطبخ أو غيره من الحجرات، البركة شيء مثل الطيف الخفيف الذي يملأ المكان حب ورحمة بين الأطراف جميعا ، الأهم: لا تنسي: دعاء ركوب السيارة، وحتي لو كنت غير صائم تطوع فتذكر حديث رسول الله صلي الله عليه وسلم " الطاعم الشاكر كالصائم الصابر" هناك ناس تأكل أطايب الطعام ويتكبر ان يقول الحمد لله علي نعمك لأنه ألِفها وأصبحت جزء لا يتجزأ من حياته، ألا تري المجاعات هنا وهناك ، هنا مجاعة نوعية من أطايب الطعام بسبب فقر بلد وهنا بسبب نهب خيرات بلد كما في بعض الدول الأفريقية التي بها أكبر مجاعة عرفها التاريخ المعاصر، فالشكر من القلب علي شيء معتاد عليه يحبها الله ويقصقصها أن تذهب بعيدا عنك - عافاك الله - . 

5- ورحم المسكين 

لماذا الله تعالي لم يذكر في الحديث القدسي الشريف: الفقير؟ وما الفرق بين الفقير والمسكين؟ الفقير: من عنده أشياء لكنها لا تكفي احتياجاته، أما المسكين: هو من لا شيء له من الأساس وهم كثر هنا وهناك، هل تعلم أن بعض البلدان العربية بها نسبة أمية تصل إلي أكثر من 53% ؟ اسمعك تقول وما دخلي انا، وما علاقة هذا بالمسكين؟ أرد علي سؤالك بجواب الله في القرآن الكريم يقول تعالي عن حال بعض الكفار عندما سألوا أن يطعموا بعض المساكين والفقراء فقالوا علي لسان القرآن (أنُطعم من لو يشاء الله أطعمه) قمة في سوء الأخلاق، أنت مبتلي بغناك - بجمالك - بمنصبك - بتعليمك الجيد: هل رحمت المسكين حتي يخرج من دائرة المسكنة أم تركته مسكين طيلة العمر، هل في يدك أن تغني احدهم فقط وتكون كما قال الله تعالي " فمن أحياها فكأنما أحيا الناس جميعا" ارحم المسكين يا أخي، ابحث عنه، وأعدك أنك لن تبحث مليا، فرؤيتك يمنة أو يسرة ستشاهد مساكين لا مأوي لهم قد كانوا وكانوا، والحرب شردتهم ، قد كانو وكانوا والصراعات القبلية مزقت حضارتهم، ليس ذنبك أنت، أعلم، ولكنها الرحمة العامة التي جاء بها نبينا محمد صلي الله عليه وسلم (وما أرسلناك إلا رحمة للعالمين) لا للمسلمين فحسب. 

6- وابن السبيل

من انقطع به الطريق وسرقت امواله أو وقعت منه لأي سبب، أو يريد أن يرجع لبلده وليس معه نقود السفر لأزمة حدثت له في البلد المضيف، اعطه من مالك ليرجع لبلده ومصاريف اكله وشربه في هذه السفرية، حتي يرجع يعمر في بلده بدل ما يكون عالة علي المجتمع الذي يعيش فيه، لكن بعض الناس اتخذت هذا الأمر سبوبة يرتشون بها كما يرتشي الكبار في افخم المصانع والمتاجر، فكن واعياً، ولكنها تظل معيار قبول صلاتك، ومصرف من مصارف الزكاة. 

7- والأرملة 

التي فقدت زوجها بسبب الحرب او الموت الإكلنيكي الطبيعي ، ويدخل في حكمها بعد (الله أعلم) السجن الطويل للزوج في بعض البلدان التي بها حروب أو الغيبة والهجران وعدم ترك مصاريف الأولاد، وغير ذلك ربما، تخيل: أن معيار تقبل الله صلاتك يعتمد علي رحمتك بهذه الأرملة التي فقدت من يقوتها: أي يأتي لها بقوتها وقت أولادها، في الإسلام الموضع مختلف عن الغرب الكافر هنيهة: ليس علي المرأة العمل، وإن اضطرت للعمل: ليس عليها أن تنفق من مالها علي البيت والأولاد والزوج إلا كنوع من الصدقة وليس الفرض، ويأخذ الرجل وراثة ضعف المرأة سبب من الأسباب ليعين المرأة - أي ما كانت المرأة حوله - زوجة - أم - أخت - ابنة - عمة - خالة - جدة ، علي ضيق ذات يدها، هذا شرع الإسلام، أما ما نراه حولنا ثم يدعي احدهم: أنه يُحسن من صلاته ويجودها ويرتل ترتيلا، فاسأل الله تعالي ان يتقبل منك. 

8- والمصاب 

هل هي إصابة نفسية أم بدنية أم كلاهما معاً؟ لم يحدد الله عزوجل، ولكن الله تعالي أكرم أن يذكر الإصابة الجسدية ولا يتحدث عن الإصابة النفسية، فإحداهما يكسر العظم والآخر يكسر القلب ، أي ما كانت نوعية الإصابة: تخيل نفسك مكانه، لإن لم تتخيل من الأساس: فابحث لنفسك عن قلب تواجه الله به في الصلاة ، فالصلاة تحتاج لقلب نظيف ، لا مزيف كالذي تقابل به الناس، فمع الله لا حاجة للبس أقنعة: قناع التسليم والرضا والفرح في عز ألمك، لا لا، فأنت هنا غير مزيف، ولو كنت مزيف، فابحث لنفسك عن قلب أيضاً، فالله لا يحب المزيفين. 

إذن 8 معايير أساسية: إن وفيت بها بحقها، وفي الله تعالي لك قبول صلاتك ، والسؤال هنا: هل طلب منك الله تعالي شيء مادي في كل ما فات؟ نعم إنه سألني أن ارحم المسكين والأرملة..الخ، هل قال لك الله تعالي (ارحم أم ادفع من مالك) لا، قال لي: ارحم، والرحمة محلها القلب لا الجيب، فالرحمة نور يدخله الله تعالي في قلب من يحب "إن الله يحب من عباده الرحماء" عندك الآن المعايير، فابحث داخل نفسك لا خارجها عنها وانت إن شاء الله مقبول جملة وموضوعاً عند الله، فلن تُقبل صلاتك وانت لا تُقبل بل انت مقبول عند الله، فابدأ الآن.. وماذا لو فعلت كل هذه المعايير أليس لي أي جزاء، مجرد قبول أعمال وصلاة فقط؟ لا، بل اسمع لبقية الحديث القدسي الشريف

ذلك نوره كنور الشمس 

هل نور الشمس أقوي أم نور القمر، الله تعالي سمي نور الشمس (ضياء) وسمي نور القمر مجرد نور، والقمر يستمد نوره من الشمس، فلماذا إذن شبهك الله تعالي بالضياء؟ لأنك أضأت من الداخل للخارج، نعم نعم لو فعلت هذه المعايير ، ستضيء لمن حولك كما الشمس، هل تعرفت من قبل علي سورة النحل؟ هل تخيلت أن رب الأرباب: يتحدث عن حشرة ، نعم النحلة مجرد حشرة، لكنك كما تعلم مع علم البيئة لا شيء غير نافع، لا شيء تقريبا حتي دودة الأرض، حتي البكتريا ، الأهم: أن الله تحدث عن النحلة في سورة كاملة، لا يهم ما جاء في السورة الكريمة ولكننا نعني باسم السورة فلكل انسان من اسمه نصيب أليس كذلك؟ فللسور القرآنية ايضاً من اسمها نصيب، فسورة النحل تسمي باسم هذه الحشرة، ماذا حدث لها مع الله تبارك وتعالي؟ قال لها: عدة أوامر مثل "كلي - اسلكي - من الجبال ومن العروش ومن كل الثمرات" وماذا حدث بعد ذلك؟ هل تركها الله تعالي لشأنها فقد هداها !! لا، بل قال جل جلاله (يخرج ن بطونها شراب مختلف ألوانه فيه شفاء للناس) من الذي أخرج من بطونها الصغيرة؟ الله تعالي وبنفسه، لماذا لم يترك شأن الحشرة للملائكة أو أي جند من جنوده؟ لا بل هو من تولي امر إخراج شراب وليس عسل فقط مثل سم العسل - مثل الشمع وأشياء اخر كلها مفيدة، ماذا أقصد من كل هذا؟ لو فعلت 8 معايير أعلي ، الله وبنفسه سيجعل لك ضياء تضيء لكل من حولك في ظلامهم حتي يينيروا بنورك ولكن ليس لهم نور كنورك، فأنت ضياء وهم مجرد نور إلا أن يصلوا مثل صلاتك. 

أكلؤه بعزتي

أكلئت الأرض: أي كثر فيها العشب، إذن صلاتك بتلك المعايير (سيعشب قلبك وصدرك بعزة ليس فيها استكبار، فأنت أنت من تواضع لعظمة الله في البداية) ففي النهاية سيملأك عزة من عزته سبحانه وتعالي

واستحفظه ملائكتي 

حفظ الملائكة: ها ألا زلت تؤمن أن هنالك ملائكة وجودة معنا وحولنا ؟ أتؤمين بمثل هذه الهراءات؟ فأين هم، ولماذا لا نراهم أو نشعر بوجودهم؟أليست هذه أضحوكة كما أضحوكة الجنة التي تضحكون بها علي الفقراء ليصبروا علي ما أصابهم في هذه الحياة؟ لا لا، بل هم هنا كما الله تعالي ، يرانا ويعلم سرنا ونجوانا، ويعلم ما اخفينا وما اسررنا، وهم يحفظونك من بين يديك (أمامك) "ومن خلفك" وعن يمينك وعن يسارك، إلا فوق وتحت، فوق لا يملكه إلا الله تعالي فلو شاء رجز من السماء - عياذا بالله - أي أن تمطر السماء حجارة وقد حدث في وقت ليس بالبعيدد في صقلية - إيطاليا - أمطرت حجارة من السماء، وفي كاليفورنيا تقريبا امطرت ضفادع ، وهي ظاهرة علمية معروفة بعض الفياضانات - عافانا الله، ولكن مع تغير المناخ ، وقول رئيس الأمم المتحدة الآن لسنا في حالة تغير مناخ بل غليان المناخ، وأنت تري العواصف والفياضانات هنا وهناك تقلب مدن رأساً علي عقب وهناك بلدان بها هشاشة غير اعتيادية أي بنية تحتية هشة فإذا جاء فيضان انهتها عن بكرة أبيها ، إن حفظ الملائكة لك ولبيتك ورزقك وعيالك، ليس له مثيل ، احفظ الله يحفظك في اوقات الشدة، وارجع ايمانك بالملائكة إذا سمحت

 أجعل له في الظلمة نورا 

هل عصفت بك الحياة أحياناً؟ عافاك الله ولكنه حدث ويحدث وسيحدث إنها مجرد دنيا، مشاكل من هنا أو هناك، مصاعب ، متاعب ويظل الإنسان حائر داخل ظلمة شديدة ، لذا يسمي الصبر: ضياء لأنه ينير لك آخر النفق الذي لا تري الحياة كلها إلا من خلاله . 

وفي الجهالة حلما 

يحدث في المشاكل العظمي مثل الحروب والمجاعات وغيرها جهالة وهي ليست جهل، بل جهل مركب، تختلط فيه الأصوات والخناقات والمشاكل تزداد ويموج الناس في بعض كما يوم القيامة وتجد هناك فرد واحد يقتاط أقل منهم بكثير والحلم والعلم والضياء يحيطه من كل جانب، هاديء راس الخطي ، لا يركض ولا يقفز ولا يسب ولا يشتم، بل عنده حلم لا يفهمه الكثير ممن حوله ، وقد رأينا هذا في الحياة . 

ومثله في خلقي كمثل الفردوس في الجنة

خلق الله تبارك وتعالي كثير ، نحن 8.3 مليار نسمة في الوقت الحالي علي كوكب الأرض فقط ،  فتخيل أنك مفضل عند الله تعالي كمثل الفردوس في الجنة وهي اعلي واوسط واقرب من عرش الرحمن من كل الجنان، فهنيئاً لك جنة الدنيا قبل جنة الآخرة. 

إليك بعض النصائح إن كنت من قساة القلب وكلنا كذلك 

1- زر خلسة وبدون علم أحد، أو اصطحب زوجتك أو أحد أولادك إن كنت تستطيع، بعد منتصف الليل: مستشفي في حي فقير: اترك بعض النقود في أظرف وكلمة طيبة وضعها وبنفسك علي الأسرة وابتسم في وجه المريض، أو ابعت حد تثق فيه إليهم بهذه الهدية، ولا تقل اشتري جهاز كبير في مستشفي (وانتظر البركة ورحمة القلب التي ستسكن قلبك) 

2- قم بعمل مسح للمدارس الحكومية من حولك: وقدم العرض لتغيير الحمام من أوله لآخره أو حمامات أو كراسي أو غير ذلك: وانوي بذلك اخراج جيل متعلمين ليسوا مساكين فيما بعد (وانتظر البركة ورحمة القلب التي ستسكن قلبك) 

3- قم بزيارة ملجأ أيتام وتصدق به بصدقة شهرية ، أو امسح علي رأس يتيم منهم من غير ما تُشعره انك تفعل حقا

4- إذا كنت ذو منصب: فتحدث مع أحدهم لإستعادة تعليم الكبار في منطقتك فقط من البوابين وعمال الدليفري وافراد الأمن وغيرهم، واجعل قريب منك يُشرف علي ذلك ووصلهم بهيئة تعليم الكبار حتي لو كانت جهود فردية، فتذكر أن منصبك ابتلاء، أي اختبار.

We all know that the first thing a person will be held accountable for on the Day of Judgment is prayer. If it is sound, then all other deeds will be sound... to the end of the authentic hadith. Are you satisfied with your prayer? I hear you saying: What does it matter to me whether I am satisfied or not with my prayer? Do you know when you are satisfied with God according to the standards of Islam? Perhaps you know, like me: that if you are satisfied with God Almighty in His decrees that are displeasing to you—may God forgive you and us by His grace—then He is satisfied with you. God's satisfaction lies in your feelings towards Him, the Exalted. So,  if you are satisfied, then you will have His satisfaction. Now, let me return to the question again: Are you satisfied with your prayer? I hear you saying: I don't know for sure, and I don't even think about it. And I am as My servant thinks of Me, so why wouldn't He accept it? Yes, God Almighty loves having good thoughts about Him, but He doesn't like you to make wishes upon Him while you are far removed from Him. Let's learn about the criteria for the acceptance of prayer, but before we begin: Are you a business owner? If you told your employees one day, "I want this project to be completed perfectly," and then one of them came to you with a weak project, then another came, and another came with something that didn't meet your expectations, and then one of them was two hours late, and then came with an excellent project, with whom would you be satisfied? With the one who was late but improved the project, or with the one who came in a hurry with a weak project in his hands? Naturally, you would be satisfied with the one who was two whole hours late but came with an excellent project. God rejoices more at the repentance of His servant than someone who lost his camel, carrying all his provisions, in the desert and then it returned to him. Even if the two hours were a lifetime late, now, now... let's begin.

2889 On the authority of Ibn Abbas, who said

 The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said: ‘I only accept the prayer of one who humbles himself before My Majesty, does not consider himself superior to My creation, does not persist in disobeying Me, spends his day remembering Me, shows mercy to the needy, the wayfarer, the widow, and the afflicted. His light is like the light of the sun. I protect him with My might and entrust him to My angels. I grant him light in darkness and forbearance in ignorance. His example among My creation is like Paradise in Heaven.

The hadith is potentially weak, but we will consider it acceptable since Imam Ahmad deemed it authentic, and the rest of the narrators are trustworthy except for one. 

It was narrated by al-Bazzar, and its chain of narration includes Abdullah ibn Waqid al-Harrani, whom al-Nasa’i, al-Bukhari, Ibrahim al-Jawzajani, and Ibn Ma’in (in one narration) considered weak. Ahmad, however, deemed him trustworthy, saying: “He was meticulous in seeking the truth and rebuked those who spoke ill of him, and he praised him highly.” The rest of the narrators are trustworthy.

An Overview of the Hadith

There are several criteria; we will discuss one criterion at a time

Before delving into the details of this sacred hadith: In the introduction, we asked whether our prayers are accepted, and we said we don't know for sure. We also discussed projects accepted by the employer. If you only accept excellence in your work—perfect and flawless—then why would you ask God to accept a prayer when your mind is empty of all Islamic principles and you think only of worldly matters? That is, if you even pray at all. Now, let's analyze this hadith as best we can.

1- I only accept the prayer of those who humble themselves before My majesty.

Are you humble? Yes, I am so humble. What is the sign of that? Do you know the etiquette of bowing in Japan? Yes, they bow all day and night to the young and old, and even to the passing car that let them through. I don't disparage cultures, but it's truly tedious. Perhaps you're right, but go back to the text of this part of the hadith: "(Those who humble themselves before My majesty... not before My creation)." What does this mean? Have you ever entered the presence of a king before? Perhaps yes, perhaps no. If you have entered the presence of a king, were you mindful of your words and actions, adjusting your mannerisms before him, or not? I mean, did you say to him, "Excuse me, my shoelace needs tying," and straighten your clothes in his presence? Or did you do that before he entered? This is a king of this world, and he deserves all respect. So, what about the King of Kings? One of God's beautiful names is "The King," not king of this or that. I heard of a woman who never prayed her entire life—her whole life—and who died in her early sixties, or perhaps even younger. She was being transferred between hospitals before her death, may God have mercy on her. Once, the Quran playing on the radio in the car she was riding in was saying, "To whom belongs the dominion today? To God, the One, the Irresistible." She said to her companion, "I am very afraid of meeting God. Glory belongs to God, my brother. Why don't you humble yourself when you pray to God? This is the first criterion. Why don't you bow down from the inside out when you prostrate? Why don't you bow down with your heart? Don't bow out of etiquette like the Japanese, which may be devoid of meaning, even though they are among the most advanced and humble nations on Earth. Rather, bow down to the greatness of God. But if you don't understand the greatness of God in the revealed universe (the Holy Quran) or the observable universe (the cosmos, its physics, and its nuclear engineering), and you don't see in yourself a sign that indicates He is One, then there is no point in doing this." Your bowing down is unnecessary, and you need not understand the greatness of God, the Most High.

2- And he did not consider himself superior to My creation

The word "istila" (استطالة) comes from the root meaning "to extend upwards," doesn't it? And you surely know that any increase in form implies an increase in meaning. So, it's not just extension, it's "istila (استطالة), Itila"  without the letter "seen" (س) means: exceeding the usual limit, like lengthening a garment. Therefore, it's not just an ordinary excess, but rather, you are above all others. No one can reach your noble presence. My brother, be humble, for we are all from dust and to dust we shall return, barefoot, without branding shoes. Be humble to God's creation, even animals. There are people who treat pets—again, pets—with harshness, kicking, and withholding their leftover food.

3- And he did not persist in disobeying Me

The persistence makes a small sin a big one, and it is also a kind of "istila," but against whom this time? Regarding God, may He be blessed and exalted, most fires start from a tiny spark, and most mountains are made from small pebbles. However, it's essential to distinguish between denial and desires. Denial and disbelief, such as believing that God sees you and that He hasn't given you what you want for a certain period, is disbelief in Him. This is a major sin, even if it seems minor. There are those who are overcome by their desires, whether for youth or other reasons. They are under God's mercy; He may punish them or have mercy on them and grant them repentance. The most important thing is to filter each day before starting the next. Don't go to sleep disobeying God and then expect hope, mercy, and generosity the following day. We all know: if you use the same premises, you'll get the same results. Change the equation; change your approach with God, and, God willing, the results will change in your favor.

4- And he spent his day remembering Me

Don't you know that I have work to do? I own a company and I have employees who work for me and have salaries that I want to pay at the end of the month. I, I, I... say whatever you want after "I," but remember: if you wanted to exercise to strengthen your body, you would find the time. You found the time to ask whoever was preparing your food, "What will we eat today?" You found the time to stretch out on the sofa after a long day of work, perhaps for hours, flipping through TV channels, YouTube, and social media. Did you find time for all these things, yet you didn't find time to spend your day remembering God Almighty? Instead of finding time for all these things, you are accountable to God, and the mind is the basis of responsibility. You thought, decided, and carried out the exercise to keep your body healthy, for example. So you should spend your day remembering God. Know that there are people who cannot leave their work and hold the prayer beads to recite supplications, for example. Therefore, every hour, and set an alarm, remember God with some of the comprehensive supplications for forgiveness, such as (I seek forgiveness from God, the Magnificent, besides Whom there is no deity, and I repent to Him: 3 times). Every hour is nothing, but it is significant in God's eyes, especially if you are among those in high positions, or remember the supplication for entering and exiting the restroom. Do not be arrogant, for even entering the restroom is a blessing known only to those who undergo dialysis – may God grant you health. And before entering your house, before saying "Hi," replace it with "Peace be upon you," until you reach "Peace be upon you and the mercy and blessings of God." Fill your house with blessings. As you grow older, you will realize that blessings are not in many items in the refrigerator, or the pantry in the kitchen, or other rooms. Blessing is something like a light breeze that fills the place with love and mercy among all parties. Most importantly: Don't forget: the supplication for riding in a car, and even if you are not fasting, remember the hadith of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, "The one who eats and is grateful is like the one who fasts and is patient." There are people who eat delicious food and are too proud to say "Praise be to God for your blessings" because they have become accustomed to it and it has become an inseparable part of their lives. Don't you see the famines here and there? Here, there is a famine of a certain kind of delicious food due to the poverty of a country, and here, due to the plundering of a country's resources, as in some African countries that have the greatest famine known to modern history. So, thanking from the heart for something one is accustomed to is something that God loves and prevents from going away from you - may God protect you.

5- And have mercy on the needy.

Why didn't God Almighty mention the poor in the Holy Hadith? And what is the difference between the poor and the needy? The poor are those who have things, but they are not enough for their needs, while the needy are those who have nothing at all, and they are many here and there. Do you know that some Arab countries have an illiteracy rate that reaches more than 53%? I hear you saying, "What does this have to do with me? What does this have to do with the needy?" I answer your question with God's answer in the Holy Quran. God Almighty says about the state of some disbelievers when they asked to feed some of the poor and needy, and they said, as the Quran says, "Shall we feed those whom, if God willed, He would have fed?" This is the height of bad morals. You are afflicted with your wealth, your beauty, your position, your good education: Have you shown mercy to the poor so that they may escape the cycle of poverty, or have you left them poor for their entire lives? Is it within your power to enrich just one of them and be as God Almighty said, "And whoever saves a life, it is as if he has saved all of humanity"? Have mercy on the poor, my brother, seek them out, and I promise you that you will not have to search far, for your gaze to the right or to the left will see poor people who have no shelter, who were once, and were displaced by war, who were and were, and were and were, and whose civilization was torn apart by tribal conflicts. It is not your fault, I know, but it is the general mercy that our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, brought: "And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds," not just to Muslims.

6- The wayfarer

If someone is stranded on the road, has had their money stolen or lost for any reason, or wants to return home but lacks the funds for travel due to a crisis in their host country, give them money to cover their travel expenses, including food and drink, so they can return and contribute to their community instead of being a burden on the host one. However, some people have turned this into a means of corruption, accepting bribes just like those in the most prestigious factories and stores. Be mindful of this, but remember that giving charity remains a criterion for the acceptance of your prayers and a legitimate recipient of Zakat.

7- The widow

 who lost her husband due to war or natural clinical death. This category also includes (God knows best) the husband's long imprisonment in some war-torn countries, or his absence, abandonment, and failure to provide for the children, and perhaps other similar situations. Imagine: the standard by which God accepts your prayers depends on your mercy towards this widow who has lost her provider: the one who used to provide for her and her children. In Islam, the situation is slightly different from the disbelieving West: a woman is not obligated to work, and if she is forced to work, she is not obligated to spend her money on the house, children, and husband except as a form of charity, not as an obligation. A man inherits the woman's vulnerability as a reason to help the woman—whoever she may be—wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, maternal aunt, grandmother, in her financial hardship. This is the law of Islam. As for what we see around us, and then someone claims that he improves his prayer, perfects it, and recites it beautifully, then ask God Almighty to accept it from you.

8- And the afflicted person

 Is it a psychological affliction, a physical one, or both? God Almighty did not specify, but He is too merciful to mention physical affliction and not speak of psychological affliction. One breaks the bone, and the other breaks the heart. Whatever the nature of the affliction, imagine yourself in their place. If you cannot imagine it, then seek a heart with which to face God in prayer. Prayer requires a sound heart, not a false one like the one you use with people. With God, there is no need to wear masks: a mask of submission, contentment, and joy in the midst of your pain. No, no, you are not false here. And if you are false, then seek a heart for yourself as well, for God does not love the false ones. 

So, there are 8 essential criteria: If you fulfill them properly, God Almighty will accept your prayer. The question here is: Did God Almighty ask you for anything material in all that has passed? Yes, He asked me to have mercy on the poor and the widow, etc. Did God Almighty tell you, "Have mercy or give from your wealth?" No, He told me, "Have mercy." And mercy resides in the heart, not the pocket. Mercy is a light that God Almighty places in the heart of those He loves. "Indeed, God loves those of His servants who are merciful." You now have the criteria, so search within yourself, not outside of yourself, for them, and you will, God willing, be accepted in your entirety and in your actions before God. Your prayer will not be accepted if you are not accepted, but rather if you are accepted by God. So begin now. And what if I fulfill all these criteria? Will I not receive any reward, just acceptance of my deeds and prayers? No, listen to the rest of the sacred hadith.

That is his light, like the light of the sun

Is the light of the sun stronger than the light of the moon? God Almighty called the light of the sun in Qur'an "radiance" and called the light of the moon merely "light," and the moon derives its light from the sun. So, why did God Almighty liken you to radiance? Because you illuminate from within outward. Yes, yes, if you follow these principles, you will illuminate those around you like the sun. Have you ever been familiar with Surah An-Nahl (The Bee)? Did you imagine that the Lord of Lords speaks about an insect? Yes, the bee is just an insect, but as you know, with the science of ecology, nothing is useless, almost nothing, not even earthworms, not even bacteria. The most important thing is that God spoke about the bee in an entire Surah. It doesn't matter what is mentioned in the noble Surah, but we mean by the name of the Surah, for every person has a share in their name, isn't that so? The Surahs of the Quran also have a share in their names, so Surah An-Nahl is named after this insect. What happened to it with God, Blessed and Exalted? He gave it several commands, such as "Eat - follow - from the mountains and from the thrones and from all fruits." And what happened after that? Did God Almighty leave it to its own devices after guiding it? No, rather, He, the Exalted, said, "There emerges from their bellies a drink of varying colors, in which there is healing for people." Who brought forth from their small bellies? God Almighty Himself. Why didn't He leave the matter of the insect to the angels or any of His soldiers? No, rather, He Himself oversaw the bringing forth of a drink—not just honey, but also honey poison, wax and other things, all beneficial. What do I mean by all this? If you perform the eight highest acts, God Himself will grant you a light that illuminates all those around you in their darkness, so that they may be guided by your light. But they will not have a light like yours, for you are light, and they are merely light, unless they pray as you pray.

"I will protect it with My might."

 The earth became lush with vegetation. Therefore, your prayer, performed according to these standards, will fill your heart and soul with a dignity devoid of arrogance, for you are the one who humbled yourself before the greatness of God at the beginning. In the end, He will fill you with a dignity from His own, the Most High.

And I entrust him to my angels

The angels' protection: So, do you still believe that there are angels and that they are with us and around us? Do you believe in such nonsense? Where are they, and why don't we see them or feel their presence? Isn't this a joke, like the joke about paradise that you use to make the poor endure what has befallen them in this life? No, no, they are here just as God Almighty Here and knows our secrets and whispers, and knows what we conceal and what we keep secret. They protect you from all sides, from before you, from behind you, from your right, and from your left, except above and below. Above is something that only God Almighty possesses. If He willed, He could send down a calamity from the sky—God forbid—meaning that the sky could rain stones. This happened not long ago in Sicily, Italy, where stones rained from the sky, and in California, it rained frogs. This is a known scientific phenomenon. Some floods—may God protect us—but with climate change, and the UN Secretary-General's statement that we are not in a state of climate change but rather climate volatility, you see storms and floods here and there turning cities upside down. There are countries with unusual fragility, meaning fragile infrastructure, so if a flood comes, it will destroy them completely. The protection of the angels for you, your home, your livelihood, and your family is unparalleled. Be mindful of God, and He will protect you in times of hardship. Renew your faith. By the angels, if you please.

Grant him light in the darkness

Has life ever overwhelmed you? May God grant you well-being, but it has happened, it happens, and it will happen. It's just this world, problems here and there, difficulties, troubles, and man remains bewildered within intense darkness. That's why patience is called "illumination," because it illuminates the end of the tunnel, through which you see the whole of life.

And in ignorance, there is wisdom. In great problems like wars, famines, and the like, there is a kind of ignorance—not ignorance, but compounded ignorance. Voices mingle, arguments rage, problems increase, and people surge against each other like on Judgment Day. And you find one individual who eats far less than the rest, yet wisdom, knowledge, and light surround him from every side. He is calm and composed, neither running nor jumping, neither cursing nor swearing. Rather, he possesses a wisdom that many around him do not understand. We have witnessed this in life.

And His favor upon me is like Paradise in Heaven. God Almighty has created many things; we are currently 8.3 billion people on planet Earth alone. Imagine that you are favored by God Almighty like Paradise in Heaven, which is higher, more central, and closer to the Throne of the Most Merciful than all other gardens. So congratulations on this earthly paradise before the paradise of the Hereafter.

Here are some tips if you are hard-hearted, and we all are:

1- Secretly visit, without anyone knowing, or take your wife or one of your children if you can, after midnight: a hospital in a poor neighborhood. Leave some money in envelopes, a kind word, and place it yourself on the beds, smiling at the patient. Or send someone you trust with this gift. Don't say, "Buy a large piece of equipment for the hospital." (And wait for the blessing and compassion that will fill your heart.)

2- Conduct a survey of the public schools in your area. Offer to replace the bathrooms completely, or replace toilets, chairs, or anything else. Intend to raise a generation of educated people who will not be destitute later in life. (And wait for the blessing and compassion that will fill your heart.)

3- Visit an orphanage and give a monthly donation, or pat an orphan on the head without making them feel like you are doing something truly special.

4- If you are in a position of authority, talk to someone about reviving adult education programs in your area, specifically for doormen, delivery workers, security personnel, and others. Have someone close to you oversee this initiative. Connect them with the adult education authority, even if it's through individual efforts. Remember that your position is a test, a trial.
